ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ದಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದಿರುವರು ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್.
 
ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ಮಾಡುವ ವಿದಾನವೇ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ಗೊತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
 
ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್, ನುಡಿ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ಕದ್ದು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ಬರಹ ವಾಸು.
 
 
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಯಾಕೆ ಅಂದರೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರಕಾರವನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ತಪ್ಪು ದಾರಿಗೆ ಎಳೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.  ಕಗಪ ಬರಹ ಫಾಂಟ್ಸ್ ಕದ್ದು ಮಾಡಿರುವ ನುಡಿ ಫಾಂಟ್ಸ್ ಅನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾರಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದೆಕ್ಕೆಲ್ಲ ಆದಾರ ಇದೆ.
 
 
ನುಡಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಸಿರುವ ಅಕ್ಷರ (ಫಾಂಟ್) ವನ್ನು ಆಕೃತಿ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶದಿಂದ ಕದ್ದದ್ದು ಎಂದು ಯಾರೋ ಆರೋಪ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರೆ ನಾವು ಅಷ್ಟು ತಲೆಕೆಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ ಆದರೆ ಈ ಆರೋಪ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವವರು ಸ್ವತಃ ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದವರು.  ಒಬ್ಬರು ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ತಿನ ಡಾ. ಯು. ಬಿ. ಪವನಜ ಹಾಗು ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಪರಿಷತ್ತಿನ  ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಸತ್ಯನಾರಾಯಣ. ಇವರುಗಳು ನಮಗೆ ಬರೆದ ಮೇಲ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.  ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಸ್ವತಃ ಆಕೃತಿ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶದ ಮಾಲಿಕರಾದ ಆನಂದ್ ಸಹ ಶೇಶಾದ್ರಿ ವಾಸುರವರ ಬರಹದ ಮೊದಲ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕೃತಿ ಫಾಂಟ್ ಕದ್ದು ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಿದ್ದರು, ನಂತರ ಬರಹ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶದಿಂದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ತಿನವರು ಫಾಂಟ್ ಕದ್ದು ನುಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
 
 
ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಂದ ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ಅನ್ಯಾಯ.
 
ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕೊಡಲಿ ಪೆಟ್ಟು ಆಗಿರೋದು ಶೇಷಾದ್ರಿವಾಸು ಇಂದ. ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ, ವಾಸು ಆಕೃತಿ ಫಾಂಟ್ಸ್ ೧೯೯೭ ನಲ್ಲಿ  ಕದ್ದು  ಬರಹ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ವಾಸುನೆ ಜುಲೈ ೨೦೦೪ ರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಈಮೇಲ್ ಬರೆದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಬರಹ ಕದ್ದು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಅಂಥ ವಾಸುನೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ವಾಸು ಕದ್ದು ಬರಹ ೧.೦ ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋದರೆ, ಮುಂದಿನ ಬರಹ ೨.೦ , ೩.೦, ೪.೦, ೫.೦, ೬.೦, ೭.೦, ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ. ವಾಸು ಏನು ಏನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನೋ ಅದೆಲ್ಲ ಕದ್ದು ಮಾಡಿದಂಗೆ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ.
 
 
ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಶೇಷಾದ್ರಿವಾಸು ಕದ್ದು ಮಾಡಿದ ಬರಹ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶವನ್ನು ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಕಲಿತ ಎಂಭ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಅಮೇಲೆ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ನುಡಿ ಅಂಥ ಹೆಸರುಕೊಟ್ಟು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ದುಡ್ಡು ಪಡೆದು ಮಾರಿದೆ.
ವಾಸು ಬರಹ ಕದ್ದು ಮಾಡಿ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ ಗೆ ಬರಹ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ವನ್ನು ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಲು ಕೊಡದೆ ಇದಿದ್ದರೆ , ಕಲಿತ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಗೆ ಆಗುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು  ನುಡಿ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
 
 
ನುಡಿ ಮತ್ತು ಬರಹ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಕಚೇರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ವನ್ನು ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ೨೪ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ತಯಾರಿಕರು ಇದ್ದರು. ಈಗ ಎಸ್ಟು ಇದ್ದರೆ ಅಂಥ ಲೆಕ್ಕ ಹಾಕಬೇಕು?
ನುಡಿ ಮತ್ತು ಬರಹ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲು, ಒಬ್ಬ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ತಯಾರಿಕರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ , ಅವರ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ವನ್ನು , ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಕಚೇರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉಚಿತ ವಾಗಿ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ೧೯೯೭ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ರ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ವನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗಲೇ ಕಚೇರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
 
 
ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ಮಾಡುವ ವಿದಾನವೇ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ಗೊತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಒಂದು ಹವ್ಯಾಸಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಅಂಥ ತೇಜಸ್ವಿ ಯವರೇ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್, ನುಡಿ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ಕದ್ದು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ಬರಹ ವಾಸು.
 
 
 
ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಗೆ ನುಡಿ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ಮಾಡಲು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ೩೫ ಲಕ್ಷ  ರೂಪಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಂಜೂರು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ದುಡ್ಡು ಯಾರು ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿದೆ ಅಂಥ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಯಾಕೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಗುಟ್ಟು ಏನು ? ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ನವರಿಗೆ ಈ ದುಡ್ಡು ಎನ್ ಆಗಿದೆ ಅಂಥ ಗೊತ್ತು. ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಯಾಕೆ ಏನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ?
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರಕಾರ ದಿಂದ ದುಡ್ಡು ತೆಗೆದು ಕೊಂಡ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಯಾಕೆ ನಾವು ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ಉಚಿತ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಅಂಥ ಸುಳ್ಳು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡು ಓಡಾಡಬೇಕು?
 
 
 
ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ವನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪು ದಾರಿ ಗೆ ಹೇಳೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ವನ್ನು ನಾವೇ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಅಂಥ ಸುಳ್ಳು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡು ತಿರುಗಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಗೆ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ಅಂದರೆ ಏನು ಅಂಥ ನು ಗೊತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಮಣ್ಣು ಎರಚಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಗೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ದುಡ್ಡು ಕೊಟ್ಟು  ಹೊಸ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ಮಾಡಿ ಅಂಥ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು. ಈಗ ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಕದ್ದು ಮಾಡಿರುವ ನುಡಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ವನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮೋಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಅನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ದವರು ದೂರ ಇಡಬೇಕು.
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ, ನುಡಿ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ವನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಕಚೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಡ್ಡಾಯವಾಗಿ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಪತ್ರ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಬೇರೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ತಯಾರಿಕರಿಗೆ ಮೋಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
 
 
 
ಕನ್ನಡ ಆಡಳಿತ ಭಾಷೆ ಆಗಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿ ಆಗಲೇಬೇಕು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ.
ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ದಾಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಅಳವಡಿ ಸದೇಹೊದರೆ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಆಡಳಿತ ಭಾಷೆ ಆಗುವುದು ಕಸ್ಟ ಆಗುತ್ತೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗ ಆಗಿರುವ ತಪ್ಪನೆಲ್ಲ ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು.
ಕನ್ನಡ ವನ್ನು ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿದರೆ, ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ, ತಾಲೂಕು , ಹೋಬಳಿ, ಹಳ್ಳಿ  ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮುಂದೆ ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ. 
ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ, ತಾಲೂಕು, ಹೋಬಳಿ, ಮತ್ತು ಹಳ್ಳಿ ಗಳ, ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಓದಿ ಮುಂದೆ ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಸ್ಟ ಆಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇದನೆಲ್ಲ ನಾವು ಗಮನಿಸಬೇಕು. ಇವರೆಲ್ಲ ಬೆಂಗಳುರಿಗೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಹುಡುಕಲು ಬಂದ್ಗ ಎಸ್ಟು ಕಸ್ಟ ಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಅಂಥ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲ ಗಮನಿಸಿ ಒಂದು ದಾರಿ ತೋರಿಸಬೇಕು.
 
 
 
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ದಲ್ಲಿ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಆಡಳಿತ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಡ್ಡಾಯ ವಾಗ ಬೇಕಾದರೆ, ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು.  ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಗೆ ಇದೆ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಕೆಲಸ.
 
ಈ ಆಡಳಿತ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕಡೆ, ಅಂದರೆ, ವಿಧಾನ ಸೌಧ ಇಂದ ಎಲ್ಲ ಹಳ್ಳಿ ಯವರಿಗೆ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಡ್ಡಾಯವಾಗಿ ಇರಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ , ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ವನ್ನು ಸರಿ ಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು.
 
 
 
ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು, ನಾವೆಲ್ಲ ಸೇರಿ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಒಂದು ದಾರಿ ನೋಡಬೇಕು.
ಚಾರಿತ್ರಿಕ ತಿರುವಿನಲ್ಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಭವಿಷ್ಯ.
ಆದುನಿಕ ಯುಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ಗಮನಿಸಬೇಕು.
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ತಪ್ಪು ಧೋರಣೆಗಳು.
ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಿರುವ ತೊಂದರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು.
 
 
 
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ?

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಮೊದಲನೆಯದಾಗಿ, “ನುಡಿ” ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶವನ್ನೇ ಬಳಿಸಲೇಬೇಕು ಎಂಭ ಆದೇಶವನ್ನು ಹಿಂತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.
ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಗೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಮಾನ ವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಹಾಕಬೇಕು.
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗ ಆಗಿರುವ ತಪ್ಪನೆಲ್ಲ ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು.
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರಕಾರವನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ತಪ್ಪು ದಾರಿಗೆ ಎಳೆದಿದೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು.
“ನುಡಿ” ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ವನ್ನು ಮುಕ್ತವಾಗಿ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಲು “ನುಡಿ” ಸೋರ್ಸ್ ಕೋಡ್ ಅನ್ನು ಅಂತರ್ಜಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದರೆ, ಎಲ್ಲರು ಸೇರಿ ಇದನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿ ಪಡಿಸಬಹುದು. ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ “ನುಡಿ” ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ವನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾರಿದ್ದರು ಯಾಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ? ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರಕಾರ ಯಾಕೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ಇದನ್ನು?
 
 
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಸಲಹಾ ಸಮಿತಿ ನೇಮಿಸಬೇಕು.

ಈ ಸಮಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ  ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಬಲ್ಲ ಸಾಹಿತಿಗಳು, ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ತಜ್ಞರು, ಭಾಷಾ ತಜ್ಞರು, ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಸಂಪಾದಕರು, ಮುದ್ರಕರು, ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ತಯಾರಕರು, ವ್ಯಾಕರಣ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಜ್ಞರು, ಪ್ರಕಾಶಕರು, ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಪರಿಣಿತರು, ಪತ್ರಿಕೋಧ್ಯಮಿಗಳು, ಉಚ್ಛಾರಣಾ ತಜ್ಞರು, ಕನ್ನಡ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು, ಸರಕಾರದ ಅದಿಕಾರಿಗಳು, ವಿಮರ್ಶಕರು, ನಿಘಂಟು ತಜ್ಞರು, ಮಾಹಿತಿ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞರು ಮತ್ತು ಉದ್ದಿಮೆದಾರರು, ಇರಬೇಕು.
 
 
 
ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ಗಮನಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ವಿಷಯಗಳು

ಎಸ್ಟೇ ಕನ್ನಡ ವೆಬ್ ಸೈಟ್ ಮತ್ತು ಕನ್ನಡ ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಗಳು ಇದ್ದರೂ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಆಡಳಿತ ಭಾಷೆ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
“ನುಡಿ” ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶವನ್ನು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಆಡಳಿತ ಭಾಷೆ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
ಕನ್ನಡ ವೆಬ್ ಸೈಟ್ ಮತ್ತು ಕನ್ನಡ ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಗಳಿಂದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆ ಉಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. 
ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆ ಉಳಿಯುವುದು ಕಥೆ-ಕಾದಂಬರಿ ಇಂದ ಅಲ್ಲ.
ಗೂಗಲ್ ಅವರ ಸೈಟ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿದರೂ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಆಡಳಿತ ಭಾಷೆ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ.ಕಂ ಏನೇ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ರೂ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಆಡಳಿತ ಭಾಷೆ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
 
 
ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆ ಉಳಿಯಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬಳಿಕೆ ಜಾಸ್ತಿ ಯಾಗಬೇಕು. ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ವನ್ನು ಸರಿ ಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು.
ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ಬಳಕೆಯು ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ನಾವೆಲ್ಲ ಸೇರಿ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದ ಕೆಲಸ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶದ ಸರಿ ಪಡಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಕೆಲಸ.
ಇದನ್ನು ನಾವೆಲ್ಲ ಯೋಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು.
 
 
 
ಯಾವ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತ್ತರು ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಏನು ಆಗಿದೆ ಅಂಥ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ?
ಯಾವ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತ್ತರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರಕಾರವನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ ?
ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತ್ತರು, ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಅನ್ನು ಯಾಕೆ ಇನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಲ್ಲ ? ನುಡಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ?  ನುಡಿ ಕದ್ದಿದ್ದೋ ಅಲ್ವ ಅಂಥ ?
ನುಡಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ವನ್ನು ಯಾಕೆ ಓಪನ್ ಸೋರ್ಸ್ ಹಾಕಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂಥ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಾರ ?
ಯಾವ ಪತ್ರ ಕರ್ತ್ತರು ಕದ್ದು ಮಾಡಿದ ನುಡಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶವನ್ನು, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾರಿದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಗಣಕ ಪರಿಷತ್ತನ್ನು ಯಾಕೆ ಇನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ?
ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತ್ತರು, ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನ್ಜು ಓದಿ, ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶಕ್ಕೆ ಏನು ತೊಂದರೆಗಳು ಆಗಿದೆ ಅಂಥ , ಎಲ್ಲ ಜನರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರ ?
 
 
 
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಕವಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಹಿತಿಗಳು ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ಕ್ಕೆ ಏನು ಏನು ತೊಂದರೆ ಆಗಿದೆ ಅಂಥ ಯಾಕೆ ನೋಡುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ?
ಕನ್ನಡ ಆಡಳಿತ ಭಾಷೆ ಆಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಏನು ತೊಂದರೆಗಳು ಇದೆ ಅಂಥ ಯಾಕೆ ನೋಡುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ?
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಕವಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಹಿತಿಗಳು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರಕಾರವನ್ನು ಇನ್ನು ಯಾಕೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಕೇಳಿಲ್ಲ್ಲ?
 
 
ಕನ್ನಡ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿ ಪ್ರದಿಕಾರ, ಕನ್ನಡ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ ?

ಉಡುಪಿ, ಆ. 03 : ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ದಿನದಿಂದ ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ತನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳತೊಡಗಿದೆ. ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ಮಾತಾನಾಡುವುದನ್ನೇ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಬರೀ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಾತನಾಡುವಂತಹ ದಿನಗಳು ದೂರವಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಖ್ಯಾತ ಭಾಷಾತಜ್ಞ ಡಾ.ಕೆ.ವಿ.ನಾರಾಯಣ ವಿಷಾದಿಸಿದರು.
 
 
ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಮೆಮೋರಿಯಲ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ 60ನೇ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕೋತ್ಸವದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಲಿಪಿ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಶಾಸನ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಯುಜಿಸಿ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ಎರಡು ದಿನಗಳ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮಟ್ಟದ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಅವರು, ಮುಂದುವರೆದ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನದ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಗಂಡಾಂತರ ಎದುರಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಕಳವಳ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಇಂದು ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯಷ್ಟೆ ಅಲ್ಲ ಯಾವ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಕಲಿಯಬೇಕೆಂದರೂ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರಿನ ಮೊರೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ. ಬರೆಯುವ ಪರಿಪಾಠ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ನಿಂತುಹೋಗಿದೆ. ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ ಮುಂದೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಲಿಯುವ ಸಮಯಬಂದಿದೆ. ಇದರ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವೇ ಇಂದಿನ ಎಸ್ಎಂಎಸ್ ಮೂಲಕ ಸುದ್ದಿ ರವಾನಿಸುವುದು ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಖೇದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
 
ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 6 ಸಾವಿರ ಭಾಷೆಗಳು ಚಾಲ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿವೆ. ಆದರೆ 100 ಭಾಷೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಲಿಪಿ ಇದೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದೇ ಲಿಪಿಯನ್ನು ಅನೇಕ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಬಹುದು. ಹತ್ತು ಲಿಪಿಗಳು ಮಾತ್ರ ಸ್ವಂತ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿವೆ. ಆ ಹತ್ತು ಭಾಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಅಥವಾ ಐದನೇ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಭಾಷೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು ಕಲಿಯಲು ವಿದೇಶಿ ಸಂಶೋಧಕರು ಆಸಕ್ತಿ ವಹಿಸಿರುವುದು ತಿಳಿದಿರುವ ಸಂಗತಿ ಎಂದು ನಾರಾಯಣ ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು. ಇತಿಹಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಸನಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಅಷ್ಟಾಗಿ ಮಹತ್ವವಿಲ್ಲ. ಅನಾದಿ ಕಾಲದಿಂದಲೂ ಶಾಸನಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಕೇವಲ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಆಧಾರವಾಗಿ ಗುರುತಿಸಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಸಂಶೋಧಕರು, ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರು ಶಾಸನಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊರಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
 
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಪ್ರಾಚ್ಯವಸ್ತು ಸಚಿವಾಲಯದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕಿ ಉಷಾ ಸುರೇಶ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಸುಮಾರು 300 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಳೆಯದಾದ 20 ಲಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು. ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾಗಿರುವ ಶಾಸನ ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಸನ ಬರಹಗಳು ಸಂಶೋಧಕರಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಅನುಕೂಲಕರವಾಗಿವೆ. ಇದರ ಉಪಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಅನೇಕ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆಸಕ್ತರು ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ವೆಬ್ ಸೈಟ್ ಮೂಲಕ ವಿವರವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸದಂತೆ ಇಲಾಖೆಯು 100 ತಜ್ಞರ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕ್ಯಾಸೆಟ್ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊರತರಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಉಷಾ ಸುರೇಶ್ ಹೇಳಿದರು.

The power of an individual

 

If the environment around us is still a bit friendly, despite it being heartlessly polluted and looted of its rich wealth, it is because of a few people like Mr A R Shivakumar, a Senior Scientist and Principal Investigator-RWH since November 1981, at the Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology, situated in the lush green campus of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

This humble Engineer is an innovative thinker who has been fascinated by the power of science in making our lives comfortable as also preserving nature. No wonder he won the National Award for Invention of the High Efficiency Low Wattage Electric Water Heater from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, in the year 2002.

His list of inventions is quite long starting with the Sisal Decorticator, which he developed as part of his final BE project in 1981 and won the State Science Council award. This design of Mr. Shivakumar was later adopted as the national design and today thousands of farmers across the country are using this simple machine to separate the fibre from the sisal plant locally, to avoid transportation costs and improve the efficiency. He was one of the scientists, who advocated the popular energy saving ASTRA stove and worked for its dissemination to remote villages. He then improved the design of bullock carts to suit the unfriendly roads of the villages, invented the low cost eco-friendly, solar godowns to dry coconuts within 6-7 months, coconut frond shredders for optimum use of dry fronds and so many other small things to help the rural sector.

These innovations apart, Mr. Shivakumar‘s contribution to rainwater harvesting is something that needs to be stressed upon. His house “Sourabha“ is a place every Bangalorean “must“ visit. Adopting all the points he propounds, Mr.Shivakumar saves nearly nearly 30-40per cent power and managing without availing the Corporation water facility! His family of four is able to manage all domestic needs, including gardening, washing the car, etc. with the rainwater they collect in their sump for nearly eight to nine months a year. For the rest of the year, they pump water from their borewell, which is also well recharged with rainwater by direct injection, through infiltration gallery.

His simple and cheap eco-friendly roof integrated solar water heater, designing of rat-trap walls, simple water purifier, which needs no power, solar cooker, solar lighting and adoption of very simple methods like painting the terrace white, strategic placement of windows and doors and having water bodies and greenery all around have all helped the family save power to a major extent. Added advantage is that the members remain in the pink of health.

But Mr Shivakumar‘s knowledge is not restricted to benefiting family. He wants to help the State in which he lives as much as possible and has been toiling for this with pleasure. He was the principal instigator of the first ever structured pogramme on RWH under the Indo-Norwegian Project in 2002. This was a Rs.50-lac project interestingly born at Mr.Shivakumar‘s house, which impressed the Norwegian Councillor very much.

Ten Demonstration Plots were taken up and they were Vidhana Soudha, High Court, GPO and Mail Motor Service, GKVK, Fire Station, Rajajinagar, Kengeri Beedi Workers‘ Housing Colony, Kidwai Memorial Hospital, Collegiate Public Instructions, KSCST and the BMP buildings. Besides, two exhibition plots at Banshankari BWSSB Service Station and the BMP Day Care Centre at Richmond Town were also taken up.

“Working on this project was a very fulfilling experience. Each building is a marvel in its own and I can write a book about this project. For instance, when we took up the High Court building and went on to the roof top to look for the drain pipes from there, we were astounded to find none all around the building. We had to research a lot to realise that the pipes were embedded inside the lovely red pillars of the building. What a wonderful way of hiding those ugly pipes.

“Then, coming to Vidhana Soudha, executing the RWH project was a challenge because we were given strict orders that the beauty of the building should not be marred in any way. After a lot of thinking and planning, we had to bring the rainwater outside the building through ventilators of the five feet thick walls in the basement.

“My BMP project was also very interesting. Just as I entered the BMP office, I found the old swimming pool being demolished. I rushed to the Commissioner and requested him to stop that work immediately, because that pool was a wonderful, huge tank, where lakhs of litres of rainwater could be stored. The Commissioner was very cooperative and today, you can see a lovely landscape above the pool and below it is stored all the water, which meets the needs of the BMP office for the whole year.

“At GKVK, we have executed a zero-discharge project, which ensures that not even a drop of water goes waste“, says Mr Shivakumar.

Mr Shivakumar has conducted 26 training programmes for different target groups like the architects, builders, contractors, plumbers, service providers, planners and policy makers, IAS, IPS and IFS officers. He also fondly remembers his active participation in the Government of India, Department of Science and Technology funded project in Tumkur, where too, ten public buildings such as the Government Hospital, DC’s Office, SIT, etc. were taken up for implementing RWH schemes.

Mr V P Balegar, IAS was very supportive in setting up quasi-Government Rainwater Resource Centres in each District and also implementing the RWH project at least in a minimum of 20 houses in each village of every taluk, covering all the 176 Taluks of Karnataka, he says. The personnel in these district centres will be trained and attached to the local Engineering College.

“Arghyam“, a voluntary organisation under the leadership of Ms.Rohini Nilakeni will extend its support to monitoring all the activities in the rural RWH programme.

Mr Shivakumar goes all out to see that RWH is adopted by as many Bangaloreans as possible and hence participates in a number of Radio and TV programmes to give publicity to this essential concept.

Besides, Mr.Shivakumar has published “Amruthavarshini“ a guide for RWH in Kannada & English. He has also published a number of articles and papers on the topic individually as also in cooperation with his colleagues. He has been instrumental in providing technical support and specifications for RWH in the Government Schools of Karnataka. The RWH team of the KSCST consisting of enthusiasts like Mr.Shivakumar visit various districts in the State for advising and guiding the field level implementation of team for installation of RWH in 23000 23683 rural schools.

“Karnataka Vikasa“ the Government of Karnataka journal, has extensively covered the experiences and success stories of the various RWH projects in the State.

Apart from his pet project of RWH, Mr Shivakumar fondly remembers his success story when he was on a 6-year deputation to International Energy Initiative for Energy Planning and Conservation, where he worked for a project on Sustainable Energy Supply funded by the Rockfeller Foundation.

“It was a very rich experience. I realised the strength of involving communities in self governance. Our country really needs many such projects, because the Government cannot meet the needs of all the remote villages with its limited funds and infrastructure. I was the Programme Executive for Asia Office.

“Under that project, we had chosen ten villages and set up low-cost community bio-gas plants. We used to ask the farmers to deposit cattle dung at the plants every morning and paid them 5 paise per kilogram for dung transfer. They were permitted to take back an equal quantity of used up dung, which was now more enriched and served as better manure for their farms. A pass book was maintained to keep note of the dung deposited and taken back. With a simple bio-gas engine, electricity was produced under the supervision of just a local attendant. This power was supplied to all houses. Each house was provided with one tube light point and a tap.

“The same engine used to produce electricity during the night and pump water to the houses during the day. Each family had to spend just Rs.10 per month. towards maintenance of the engine and salary of the attendant. The project took off very well and the people too were very happy, as they received water and power at their doorsteps at such a minimum cost. The villages almost became self sufficient and did not bother about the electricity supply not reaching their villages.

“However, it is sad that in a few years, due to various obvious reasons, the projects started fizzling out in the villages. Today, Mavinakere village alone continues to successfully operate this bio-gas plant. The Mahila Sangha runs the unit under the supervision of BAIF (Bharatia Agro Industries Foundation). Such models should be publicised more if all the villages in India are to progress soon,“ says Mr. Shivakumar.

This world will be a much better place if each one of us is as motivated as Mr. Shivakumar to conserve energy, water and protecting the eco-system.

ಹೌದು! ನಮ್ಮದಲ್ಲದ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ದಕ್ಕಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡಾಗ,
ಅದು ಗೆಲುವೆಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ.ನಿಜವಾದ ಅರ್ಥ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ಗೆಲುವಲ್ಲ!
ನಮ್ಮದೆಲ್ಲರ ಸೋಲಿನ ಆರಂಭ ಮತ್ತು ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ಅಂತ್ಯ ದ ಆರಂಭ.

ನೆನಪು…..?

‘ನೆನಪು’ ಯಾವತ್ತೂ ಪುಳಕವನ್ನೇ ತರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
ಅದು ‘ಆವಳ’ ನೆನಪು ಮಧುರವೇ ಸೈ!
ನೆನೆದಾಗಲೊಮ್ಮೆ ರೋಮಾಂಚನ!ಅದೇ ನೆನಪು-ಅವಳ ಆ ‘ದ್ರೋಹ’ ದ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬಂದರೇ:
ಮುಗಿಯಿತು! ಅದು ‘ಧಗ್ಗ್’ಎನ್ನುವ ಸಮಯ.ಅದು ಜೀವಗಳು ಹೊತ್ತಿ ಉರಿಯುವ ಕ್ಷಣ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಸುಳ್ಳು,ಮುರಿದ ಮಾತು,ಕಹಿಯಾದ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಕಥೆ,ಯಾವುದೂ ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಬರಲ್ಲ.ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದಿರುವುದು ಬದಿಗಿಟ್ಟ ಬದುಕು.ಹೌದು! ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೆ ಏನು ಕಾಣಲ್ಲ ಆ ‘ದ್ರೋಹ’ದ ವಿನಃ.

ನೀನು ತುಂಬ ಜಾಣೆ ಇದ್ದ ಒಂದೇ ಒಂದು ಪ್ಯಾರಚುಟ್ ನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬೆನ್ನಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಕೊಂಡು
ನೀ ಬಚಾವದೇ.ಉರಿಯುವ ಏರೋಪ್ಲೇನ್ ನಿಂದ ನಾನು ಹ್ಯಾಗೋ ಬಚವಾದೆ.ಆ ಮಾತು ಬೇರೆ!

ಹೇಳಲು ಆಗದು
ನುಂಗಲು ಬಾರದು ಈ ನೋವ
ಇದು ನೋವಲ್ಲ ನಿಗಿ ನಿಗಿ ಕೆಂಡದ ‘ಲಾವ’!

ಬಹುಶಃ ಅವನ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಅದೆ ಅಗಿತ್ತೇನೋ…?
ಆ ಯಮಹ ದ ಗುಟುರು ನನ್ನನ್ನ ಮೊದಮೊದಲು ಬೆಚ್ಚಿ ಬೀಳಿಸ್ತಾ ಇತ್ತು!
ನಂತರ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿಅವನ್ನ ನೋಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅನ್ನಿಸಿತ್ತು…ಅವನ ಆ ಯಮಹ ದ
ಗುಟುರು ಕೇವಲ ನನಗಾಗಿ ಯೇ ಎಂದು.ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅದೆ ಗುಟುರುಗಾಗಿ ನಾನು ಕಾದು
ಕುಳಿತಿರ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೆ.ಮುಂದೆ ಅದೆ ಕಣ್ಣಾಗಿ,ಸ್ನೇಹವಾಗಿ …….ಪ್ರೇಮವೂ ಆಗಿ ಹೋಯ್ತು!”….ಅವನೂ ಯಮಹ ದ ರಣ ಗಾಂಭಿರ್ಯ ; ನಾನೋ ಫೋರ್ಡ್ ಐಕಾನ್ ನ ವಯ್ಯಾರ್….”

ಕಣ್ಣನು ನೋಡಿದೆ…,
ಮಾತನು ಆಡದೆ..,ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಮಾಡಿದೆ!
ಮನಸಿನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಕನಸಿನ ಕಥೆ ಗೆ,
ನಿನ್ನಯ ಹೆಸರ ನಾ ಬರೆದೆ!
ವೇಗವು ನೀನು ಆಮೆಯು ನಾನು,
ಅದರೂ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಅಯಿತು ನೋಡು!

ಇದೆ ಜನವರಿ ೨೭ ಕ್ಕೆ ನಡೆವ ತಮ್ಮ ವಿವಾಹ ಹಾಗೂ ಉತ್ತಮ ಅಭಿರುಚಿಯ ಜೀವನ ಸಂಗಾತಿಯ ಬಗೆಗೂ ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ಹೇಳುತಿದ್ದರು.. ಅನೇಕ ಕೆಲಸಗಳ ಒತ್ತಡದ ನಡುವೆ , ತಮ್ಮ ಕಿರು ಅವಧಿಯನ್ನು ಈ ಓದುಗ ಗೆಳೆಯನಿಗಾಗೆ ಮೀಸಲಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು… ಹಾಂ.. ಅಂದಿನ ಮುಂಜಾವಿಗಂತು ಬಿಸಿಲಾಗುವ ತೀವ್ರ ತವಕ. ಕನ್ನಡದ ಮೇರು ಲೇಖಕರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಧೀರು ಅವರಿಂದ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಕೇಳುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದದ್ದು ಅಷ್ಟೆ ತವಕ, ಕೂತೂಹಲ !…. ಅವರ ನೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಲಂಕೇಶರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತುಸುವಾಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು..

The most eagerly awaited result is out. Sir M Visvesvaraya, legendary engineer and statesman, has emerged, by a huge margin, as the most popular Kannadiga in a poll conducted by CNN-IBN, Deccan Herald and Radio City.

In a week-long poll conducted via Internet and SMS, which concluded on Sunday, over 1.06 lakh people participated. Visvesvaraya polled 46 per cent of the votes. Kannada superstar Rajkumar was voted the second most popular Kannadiga with 26 per cent votes.

Infosys chief mentor N R Narayana Murthy got 19 per cent, former chief minister S Nijaligappa 4 per cent, cricketer Anil Kumble 3 per cent and Hindustani musician Gangubai Hangal 2 per cent.

The poll was the fourth in the Golden South series, which included Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. While about 50,000 people participated in the Kerala poll electing actor Mohan Lal as the most popular Keralite, 70,000 people took part in Andhra poll, electing actor N T Rama Rao, and in Tamil Nadu, about 12,000 people voted and President Abdul Kalam was the winner.

Popularly known as Sir MV, Visesvaraya is described as the architect of Old Mysore state. As Dewan of the Mysore province, he initiated a number of development works, including the construction of KRS dam.

His brilliance, efficiency, integrity, love for the people, legendary administrative skills, immense contribution to public life made him a cult figure during his lifetime.

Though he died 44 years ago, his memory is still green in the heart and minds of millions of Kannadigas. The poll has proved that the state is still indebted to him.

Sir MV had no children. His grand niece Shantha Nanjudaiah expressed joy over the poll results. She said it was heartening to know that the people across the state still love her grandfather. “It is not unexpected. But in a way surprising. These days people vote for film stars. Visvesvaraya has done great service to the state. He is remembered for his personal and public integrity, love for the people. We are very happy. It is great to be associated with his family, with his name,” she said.

Before marriage, it�s a tradition to visit the girl�s house by the would-be-groom�s side. But I had to meet Sir M Visvesvaraya at his house in Manickyavelu Mansion, where the Balabrooie Guest House is presently located.
I was 17 and he was in his mid-80s. �Can you cook?� was his first question and I was shocked. I was told, his house, which I would move into after marriage had many servants, including cooks. Since I did not answer, he contended, �At least, I hope you know how to eat.� Visvesvaraya had a soft corner for his brother�s son Krishnamurthy, my late husband, because my mother-in-law had died when he was nine months� old, due to plague. Even as a young bride I thought I owed it to him because he was the one who sent my husband abroad and made him a textile engineer.
Sir never left behind any big money because he never made any. Yet, even six months after his death, we were giving away cheques to students among his relatives whose education he sponsored. That was his wish in his will. Maybe, influenced by his foreign trips, Sir wrote his will when he was 50 years� old. In his 90s, he made some additions. Sir was fine till his death, five months short of his 103rd birthday. He did not suffer from any health problem, never wore glasses and during his last few years had a college student reading out newspapers to him � Deccan Herald, The Hindu and Times of India. I think he mentally gave up on life after 100. He ate simple food but there had to be something special on Sundays � holige or kadubu.
Although he was surrounded with servants given by the government, he was never rude to any of them. If they made a mistake, he called them into his room, and expressed how he did not approve of their wrongdoing. His clerk served him for 60 years, cook for 36 years, driver 30 years and domestic help for 50 years. Even when he was in Mumbai, a place he went to once every three months, the staff came to work on time.
Sir also kept a book and pen near his pillow to write notes in the night lest he forgot something by the next morning. �Don�t trust your mind,� he would say.
Sir�s first two wives died at childbirth and he was forced to separate from the third because of incompatibility. But he always sent her money and after her death, conducted the last rites.
You could think this as a tragedy but the only sad part of his life that he remembered was poverty during his childhood. It kept coming back to his mind.
An issue he promoted with passion was family planning. To a newly married couple, the first question he would ask to their surprise was, �So, how many children do you plan to have?�
He was against couples having any number of children and then believing that God will take care of them. �God will not,� he would warn, worried alongside about the impending population explosion in the years to come.

 The relative side of it

Rangarao Road in Basavanagudi takes one down memory lane and Flat Number 101 of Brigade Ratna Apartments speaks of punctuality, efficiency and hard work, by which Sir M Visvesvaraya stood all his life.
It is here that the relatives of Sir M V – Shantha (the grand-daughter of Sir M V�s brother Ramachandra Rao), M S Nanjundaiah (her husband), Aruna and Dr Sandhya (their daughters) – stay and lead their life religiously following the ideals laid down by the �most popular Kannadiga� – Bharath Ratna Sir M V.
Reaction to the poll results was instant and mixed from them. While it was a surprise for Ms Aruna, for Mr Nanjundaiah, it was not. �It is quite obvious going by his immense contribution to the development of almost all fields. This is the reason many families still worship him as God,� he said.
Mr Nanjundaiah, who worked as senior operations advisor for World Bank and retired as a Government of India official in 1970, is proud of the poll results not just because he is a relative. He had a close association with Sir M V with respect to work and even had the opportunity to implement one of the projects that was conceived, planned and approved by him. In fact, Mr Nanjundaiah is a granary of anecdotes, which corroborates that Sri M V is indeed a very popular figure.
One of Mr Nanjundaiah�s memories with Sir M V that he still cherishes is his wedding. Sir M V did not attend Mr Nanjundaiah�s wedding as he was busy preparing a feasibility report on the Ganga railway bridge in Patna. Though Mr Nanjundaiah did not have the honour of Sir M V�s presence at his wedding, it was fate that put him in the team for the implementation of the same project. �When the project was done successfully and more importantly, as had been planned by Sir M V, I got a pat on my shoulder in appreciation of my work,� he said very proudly.
In another instance, Mr Nanjundaiah said, Sir M V summoned all his relatives one day (when he was offered to become the Dewan of the then Mysore State) and took word from each one them that she/he will not ask for any favour from him after he assumes office as Dewan. �Only when all agreed, he accepted the offer,� he recalled.
One may wonder why Sir M V is still relevant, against several other personalities who have a lot of glamour and glitz.
Mr Nanjundaiah said, �He is relevant because his works helped countless people in all spears of life. He is popular even today because he fought for public cause with the greatest integrity.�
It may be the KRS dam that has become a lifeline for lakhs of farmers in the Cauvery belt or Bhadravathi Iron and Steel Works, his initiatives in education sector (he opened innumerable education institutions, include University of Mysore, Jaya Chamarajendra Vocational Training Institute and adult literacy programme), so on and so forth.
�All these made a huge difference in the lives of people. It is because of his initiatives that today Karnataka is a leading destination for education,� he pointed out.

 ENCAPSULATING HIS WORKS
Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya was born on September 15, 1860 at Muddenahalli in Kolar district. He earned his BA from Madras University in 1881 and later acquired graduation in civil engineering at College of Science, Pune. He started his career as an engineer with PWD, Bombay.
He implemented an extremely intricate system of irrigation in the Deccan area. It was Sir M V, as he is popularly called, who designed and patented a system of automatic weir water floodgates, that were first installed at Khadakvasla reservoir near Pune in 1903. The same system has used at Tigra dam in Gwalior and KRS dam in Mandya.
