  3. Dear Kannadigas,

We as Kannadigas are proud of our heritage, literary legacy and cultural wealth, as well as the progress and achievements of Kannada culture and literature in the past century. Our pride could manifest in our social life in North America and other countries.

Many of us enjoy meeting other Kannadigas during small parties in our houses. The party could be the celebration of a birthday, an Indian festival like Ganesha Habba, Navaraathri and Deepaavali, or may even be a simple weekend. We spend four to six hours together.

Many of us are members of local Kannada Kootas some of which are in existence since 1960’s and some of us are members of Kannada Groups which are growing in large numbers all over the world. We are all staying in the areas of Kannada Kootas and Groups and attend most of the functions conducted by local Kannada Kootas and Groups.

We have also invited Indian friends of other language affiliations and sometimes friends of other national / ethnic origins.

International Kannada Vedike is dedicated to:

    * holistic suite of activities of Kannada people
    * people of Kannada origin
    * people interested in culture of Karnataka and Kannada literature
    * preserve and promote Kannada heritage and culture
    * network all kannada kootas / associations / sanghas / vedikes all around the world
    * to develop methods and to teach kannadiga youths to become responsible leaders, professionals in all fields and to become part of powerful democracy in the world
    * the rich diversity of languages with roots and expanse in Karnataka to include tuLu, konkaNi, koorgi, havyaka, sanketi, bRuhaccaraNa , Etc.
*to ensure that the study of Kannada is permanently offered in the United States and different parts of the world.
*to provide more prestige for the Kannada language and its culture.
*to promote and advance the use of State-of-the-art Technology in the study of Kannada.
*to see that Kannadigas would continue to enrich our language and contribute to our motherland,
*to promote Web Enabled Teaching And Learning Kannada “WE-TALK” so that it benefits all people who wants to learn Kannada all over the world.
*to help educational institutions in different countries to programs and courses in Kannada and it’s culture.
*to strenghten the activities of Kannadigas here in North America and all over the world and to create a unified voice.
*to respect the thoughts of the others. When Kannadigas recognize the opinion of the others, automatically it shows the respect we each other give.

Kannadigas from all over the world have come together and formed this International Kannada Vedike called as:
